IMPORTANT RSFC SAFEGUARDING UPDATE – SHIN PAD POLICY

Runcorn saxons grassroots club ban Micro min shin pads guards

🚫 IMPORTANT CLUB SAFEGUARDING UPDATE – SHIN PAD POLICY 🚫

At Runcorn Saxons FC, the safety and wellbeing of our players is our top priority.

Following an incident at training last week and guidance from the England Football Association regarding shin pad safety, the Club has made the decision to go one step further to protect our young players aged under 18.

🔴 Effective immediately, “Micro” or “Mini” shin pads are banned for all U18s players at Runcorn Saxons FC.

❗ Players wearing these will not be allowed to train or play in matches until appropriate shin protection is worn.

The FA highlights that shin pads are a compulsory part of the game and play a vital role in injury prevention. “Micro” or “Mini” pads do not provide sufficient coverage and are considered a safety risk.

✅ Please ensure all shin pads:

  • Cover a good proportion of the shin

  • Carry a CE mark to meet safety standards

We ask all parents, coaches, and players to support this important safeguarding measure.

Let’s keep our players safe, protected, and ready to enjoy the game! ⚽🛡️
