Saxons Secure New 3G Facility Partnership With Sandymoor Ormiston Academy High School
Runcorn Saxons FC are excited to announce an official partnership with Sandymoor Ormiston Academy High School and EDU Lettings which will see the schools state-of-the-art 3G facility become the latest venue to host our teams at Runcorn Saxons Football Club.
For the 2025/26 season and beyond, Sandymoor Ormiston Academy High Schools 3G will be the Clubs main Home venue for all League & Cup home games throughout the season for our U7-U14s Saturday & Sunday teams that don’t play at central 3G venues and will provide a venue for the Clubs future community programmes.
This partnership will not only provide the Club with its own 3G Home facility venue but also an excellent open age 11v11 grass pitch, the extended SOA partnership will run alongside our other agreements with Pewithall and Westfield Primary Schools.
Chairman, Paul Smith, commented; “Our goal has always been very clear – organically grow the club from the bottom of the pyramid to open age and create a full player pathway for both our outstanding Boys & Girls sections. Our growth has been stunted in recent seasons due to a shortage of high-quality facilities in Halton to match our high-quality offer, leading to us losing created teams to other local Clubs with ‘better’ facilities than we could offer, with this new 3G partnership Runcorn Saxons have secured a game changing agreement for the continued development and growth of our Club, we’ve always had a substantial waiting list of teams and players wanting to join the Saxons family but we simply haven’t had the home facilities to provide an umbrella for them, we do now! Core to our offer is to provide football throughout the whole league season regardless of the weather and adding this fantastic 3G facility for our teams to use will enable another significant progression forward in the history of our great Club.”
Operations & Commercial Manager, Si Newby, said “The most important thing for our teams is to provide them with opportunities to play, learn and compete. With yet another winter of wet weather, we like many other teams across the area have been unable to provide regular football but due to securing Sandymoor’s excellent 3G facility and our other top quality venues, means this will now not be a problem for us going forward. I’m very excited about the future of this brilliant, family orientated football club. From conception in 2019 and starting with one under 13s girls team, the Club will be advancing into its 7th season with 22 boys & girls teams and a 3 star FA Accreditation within reach. Saxons have more than tripled in size since I started as a parent at the Club, and I believe our latest partnership with the Academy, the clubs combined facility portfolio, the dedication of our committee members, the high level of grassroots experience and know how that our Club Development Team possess, the our level of support for coaches, players & parents and the general experience of being part of the Runcorn Saxons family will be unrivalled in the area.”
